WhatsApp’s payment service WhatsApp Pay has recently gone live in India. For this, WhatsApp Pay has made 4 major banks of the country, State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank (Axis Bank) as their partners. With WhatsApp Pay, people will be able to send money at the same speed with which messages are sent on WhatsApp. WhatsApp Pay is allowing its users to perform digital transactions on UPI based interfaces. However, right now only 2 crore users of WhatsApp will get this service. NPCI has just approved WhatsApp to provide this facility to so many users. However, after the passage of time, the company will be able to increase its number of users.
Payments facility on WhatsApp Pay works on UPI just like Google Pay, Phone Pay, Bhima and other bank apps. Because of this, users do not need to keep money in WhatsApp wallet. Users can pay directly from their bank account. When users register for payment, WhatsApp will create a fresh UPI ID. You can see it by going to the Payments section of the app. If the user who receives the money is not registered on WhatsApp Pay, then money can also be sent to him. For this, the company offers the option of enter UPI ID. Users who send money can send money by entering Bhima, Google Pay, Phone Pay or other UPI ID.
How to send money on WhatsApp
- First of all, open the chat box of the person to whom to send money. After this, tap on Attach and then select Payment.
- After this, tap the option of Continue and verify your debit card information.
- Then enter the last 6 digits of your debit card, enter the expiry date and tap on the Done option given.
- Then set UPI PIN. After doing this you will get an OTP which will be submitted automatically. If the OTP does not fill up automatically, then manually enter the OTP on the SMS.
- After this a UPI PIN will have to be generated. Generate it under the given ‘Set UPI Pin’ option. When the UPI setup is complete, open the chat of the user to whom the money is to be sent.
- After this tap the Attach button and send as much money as you want to send.

वॉट्सऐप (WhatsApp) की पेमेंट सर्विस वॉट्सऐप पे (WhatsApp Pay) हाल ही में भारत में लाइव हो गई है. इससे लिए WhatsApp Pay ने देश के 4 प्रमुख बैंकों स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (SBI), HDFC बैंक, ICICI बैंक और एक्सिस बैंक (Axis Bank) को अपना पार्टनर बनाया है. WhatsApp Pay से लोग उसी तेजी से पैसा भेज पाएंगे जिस स्पीड से वॉट्सऐप पर मैसेज भेजे जाते हैं. WhatsApp Pay अपने यूज़र्स को UPI आधारित इंटरफेस पर डिजिटल ट्रांजैक्शन करने का सुविधा दे रही है. हालांकि, अभी यह सेवा WhatsApp के केवल 2 करोड़ यूजर्स को ही मिलेगी. NPCI ने WhatsApp को इतने यूज़र्स को ही ये सुविधा मुहैया कराने की अभी मंजूरी दी है. हालांकि, समय बीतने के बाद कंपनी अपने यूजर्स की संख्या बढ़ा सकेगी.
WhatsApp Pay पर पेमेंट्स की सुविधा गूगल पे, फोन पे, भीम और बाकी बैंक ऐप्स की तरह ही यूपीआई (UPI) पर काम करती है. इस वजह से यूज़र्स को WhatsApp के वॉलेट में पैसा रखने की जरूरत नहीं है. यूज़र्स अपने बैंक अकाउंट से सीधे पेमेंट कर सकते हैं. जब यूजर पेमेंट के लिए रजिस्टर करेंगे तो WhatsApp एक फ्रेश UPI आईडी क्रिएट करेगा. इसे ऐप के पेमेंट्स सेक्शन में जाकर देख सकते हैं. अगर पैसा रिसिव (receive) करने वाला यूज़र WhatsApp Pay पर रजिस्टर नहीं है, तो भी उसे पैसा भेजा जा सकता है. इसके लिए कंपनी ‘enter UPI ID’ का ऑप्शन देती है. यूज़र पैसे रिसिव करने वाले यूज़र की भीम, गूगल पे, फोन पे या दूसरी UPI आईडी दर्ज करके पैसा भेज सकते हैं.
WhatsApp पर ऐसे भेजें पैसे
- सबसे पहले उस व्यक्ति का चैट बॉक्स खोलें जिसे पैसे भेजना है. इसके बाद Attach पर टैप करें फिर Payment को सेलेक्ट करें.
- इसके बाद Continue के ऑप्शन को टैप करें और अपने डेबिट कार्ड की जानकारी को वेरिफाई करें.
- फिर अपने डेबिट कार्ड के आखिरी 6 डिजिट को दर्ज करें, एक्सपायरी डेट अंकित करें और दिए गए Done ऑप्शन पर टैप करें.
- इसके बाद UPI PIN सेट करें. ऐसा करते ही आपको एक OTP आएगा जो ऑटोमैटिक सब्मिट हो जाएगा. अगर OTP अपने आप नहीं भरे तो SMS पर आया OTP मैनुअली फिल कर दें.
- इसके बाद एक UPI पिन जेनरेट करना होगा. इसे दिए गए ‘Set UPI Pin’ ऑप्शन के नीचे जेनरेट करें. जब UPI सेटअप पूरा हो जाए तो जिसे पैसे भेजने हैं, उस यूज़र की चैट ओपेन करें.
- इसके बाद Attach बटन को टैप करें और जितना पैसा भेजना है, उतना पैसा भेज दें.
